    • Walkers raids MOP for imminent Dublin launch

    • .Offshore firm Walkers is set to launch an office in Dublin, taking three partners from Irish firm Matheson Ormsby Prentice (MOP). MOP Dublin partners Garry Ferguson, Ken Rush and Paul Farrell are now on gardening leave and will join Walkers’ new office in October, November and January, respectively. Walkers’ new office is in The Anchorage building in Dublin’s Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, where the firm has taken 10,000sq ft over two floors. Source-The Lawyer

    • CC, DLA Piper and Simmons & Simmons have missed out on spots on Jumeirah Group’s revamped legal panel after the hospitality company’s legal chief slashed the roster from 12 firms to 5. Chief legal officer Robert Swade assembled the group’s first-ever panel in 2008, appointing Clifford Chance, Clyde & Co, DLA Piper, Mayer Brown, Pinsent Masons and Simmons & Simmons to the main global roster with an additional six firms being taken on to offer advice on specialist jurisdictions and sectors.     • Trio of firms seal £855m Singapore Sports Hub PPP

    • Ashurst, Hogan Lovells and Norton Rose secured leading roles on the financial close of the S$1.8bn (£855m) Singapore Sports Hub PPP. Norton Rose won the mandate acting for the successful Sports Hub Consortium, which was named preferred bidder on the project in 2008.     • Offshore firm Harneys bolsters ranks ahead of Uruguay launch

    • Offshore firm Harneys has swelled its lawyer headcount in the Cayman Islands, London and British Virgin Islands with hires from top US and UK firms as it prepares to open an office in Uruguay. Harneys’ office in Uruguay will be its first in South America and, according to managing partner Richard Peters, will be complemented by the firm’s increased strength in litigation and transactions following the hire of six associates across three offices.
